There will be a mandatory pre-bid meeting with Ms. Hayes on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 1:30 PM CDT located in the Planning, Design & Construction Conference Room, Parking Structure #1, Room 134. This meeting is mandatory and all vendors wishing to submit a bid are required to attend or your bid will be rejected. Subcontractors's attendance is not mandatory, however they are welcome to attend.

WKU-PDC-2012-048: You are invited to bid on supplying all equipment, materials, labor, permits, etc. for the Ivan Wilson Fine Arts Center Flooring Replacement on the campus of Western Kentucky University. Ms. Tiffany Hayes, Project Manager shall be in charge of this project. Please contract Warren Whitfield, Manager of Construction Purchasing by email at warren.whitfield@wku.edu for any information or clarifications you may need about the bid. As soon as an answer is available it will be e-mailed back to you. If it affects the bid specifications, a written Advice of Change will be issued to all bidders.

This is not a prevailing wage job. There shall be no changes made to the bid documents without being in writing from the Department of Purchasing. Western Kentucky University is an equal opportunity employer.

This project consists of removal (by others) of the existing floor finishes in their entirety and disposal of them off campus, prepare floor to receive new finishes. New finishes are to be provided and installed as per the attached specs and drawings. Wax shall also be included as per specs. Trades need for this job will be floor prep, installation, cleaning and waxing. Contractor shall be responsible for all field measurements and materials amounts. Contractor will bid based on the take-offs provided. Any differencses on take-off will be adjusted accordingly by the corresponding unit price, credit, or additional change order. Asbestos abatement and existing floor covering removal by WKU Contractor (ROMAC) during the week of July 7-13, 2012.

A complete set of plans and specs are available for a purchase of $9.22 payable to Lynn Imaging. Sets may be ordered through this website by using a Credit Card or Lynn Account.

There will be a $17.00 shipping charge for each set shipped UPS Ground payable to Lynn Imaging. Delivery surcharges are subject to change. There will be an $9.00 handling fee for the use of shipper numbers (Fed-Ex or UPS).
